Stevenage is a town located in the county of Hertfordshire, in England. It lies about thirty miles (50km) North of London, and has a population of about ninety thousand. The train station that serves the town is Stevenage Railway Station, which is located about twenty seven miles (43km) North of Kings Cross on the East Coast Mainline.

The present station replaced the old station back in the early nineteen seventies, about a mile to the South of the old station.First Capital Connect operate the majority of trains serving the station, on the Great Northern Route from London to Peterborough. Arriva Shires and Essex operate most of the bus services for Stevenage, the other services are operated by Uno, Cosy's Travel and Centrebus.

There is an Industrial estate close to the residential area of Stevenage, where British Aerospace were the largest employer at the time. Also GlaxoSithCline (who are the fourth largest Pharmaceutical company in the world) had a laboratory based in the Industrial area. The town centre in Stevenage was the first to be pedestrianised in the UK, and was opened by the Queen back in nineteen fifty nine. The Church of St George and St Andrew has been home to Stevenage museum since nineteen seventy six, and is a grade two listed building.
