Stockport Rental Cars
Stockport lies about six miles (10km) South East of Manchester city centre, and has a population of approximately one hundred and forty thousand. The town has several large shopping centres, including Grand Central Leisure, which has many restaurants, a ten screen cinema, and an Olympic size swimming pool. Other shopping centres include The Peel Centre and Merseywey Shopping Centre.
Access to Stockport:
Access by road to Stockport is via the M60 motorway and the A6 major road which passes through the town. The train station in the town is Stockport Railway Station, which is on the West Coast Mainline. Virgin Trains provide regular services from Stockport to London, and provide services also to Birmingham, Bristol, Sheffield and many other cities. Manchester Airport is the nearest major airport to the town, and is located about five miles (eight kilometres) South West of Stockport.
Stockport Bus Station:
Stockport Bus Station is the largest bus station in the Greater Manchester area, and serves the town and surrounding areas. It provides a regular service to the city centre, with services also to Hazel Grove and Stepping Hill Hospital. Stockport College provides further and higher education for ages of fifteen and upwards. It provides vocational and academic courses from GCSE up to degree level.
