The town of Northwich is located in the county of Cheshire, in England. Cheshire has been known as a market town since the fifteen hundreds, and still has a market today. The town can be accessed by road to the North via the A559 from the M56 motorway, and to the East by tha A556 from the M6. There are several bus services from the town to the surrounding villages and towns including Crewe, Chester, Warrington and many more.
There are a number of colleges and schools in the town and surrounding areas, including St John Deane's College (sixth form college). Primary schools include Hartford Manor Primary school, Victoria Road primary school, and several more.
St Helen's Witton is a parish church and a grade one listed building, and was originally known as Chapel Of Witton and possibly dates back to the thirteenth century, but the original building no longer exists. St Wilfrids Roman Catholic church was built in the mid eighteen hundreds, and is a grade two listed building. The church is open to the public seeking a quiet moment outside the worship and prayer times.
The Dock Road Edwardian Pumping Station is a grade two listed building, and dates back to the early nineteen hundreds. It was used to pump sewage from the town to Wallerscote Treatment Works. Prior to this the sewage was pumped directly into the River Weaver, causing pollution.
