Oxford Train Station - Car Rental
Oxford Train Station is located about half of a mile West of Oxford city centre, and is on many lines, including the Hereford to Paddington, and Birmingham new Street to Reading. Oxford Railway Station was first introduced to The Great Western Railway Services back in eighteen forty four as a terminus station.
In recent years the passenger traffic has rapidly increased, and in the seven years from two thousand and three and two thousand and ten, the traffic has gone up by almost 50%. Plans for the station to be expanded was anounced back in 2009, with a ten million pound development plan between Oxfordshire County Council and Network rail.
Facilities (Park End Street): Bicycle storage is available for approximately five hundred and fifty, but cycles can be carried on certain trains with no charge. There is a car park with about five hundred spaces, but the large car park in Beckett Street is only for rail users. There is a taxi rank located at the station entrance. There is a rail replacement bus service located in the short stay car park, near platform one.
