Shannon International airport is approximately 25km North West of Limerick and one of the business airports in the Republic of Ireland. The airport first opened in the forties and now has in excesss of two million passengers passing through each year.
There is a banking facilities,a bureau de change and ATM's in thr Terminal building.
Shops: The duty free shops are in the Departure lounge. There is a newsagents, a gift shop, and an internet/bookshop located near the arrivals hall.
Left Luggage Facility: There is a left luggage service near the arrivals hall.
Disabled Facilities: Shannon airport has ramps and disabled toilets situated in the terminal building. Also there are lifts and adapted payphones available at the airport. Wheelchairs are available (free of charge) throughout the airport.
Public transport: A bus Eireann information desk is situated in the arrivals area. There are Buses to Limerick regularly. There are also coaches to Ennis and Limerick operated by Bus Eireann. There are also coach services to Galway provided by Citylink.
Shannon airport has short and long term car parking facilities totalling well over five thousand spaces. The short term car park (open 24 hours) is situated in front of the terminal building and is mainly used for drivers dropping off or picking up passengers. There are five long term car parks at Shannon airport.
